Magda and I joined the beginners rowing regatta through work. Everyone was brand new to rowing, and only got 6 sessions to learn, then the races were on!! We did pretty well, won two out of 4 races in the heats and then we were knocked out in the semi’s. But we managed to score a magnum of sparkles when we were voted as having the best crew name – Strokeback Mountain. It was a nice day, I really enjoyed rowing, maybe I’ll do it again one day.

Taking another break from work this year, Wes and I decided to treat ourselves to 6 days continuous cycling! To be honest, Wes wanted to go surfing (again!?! :) But I thought now that I was the upgraded wife model, I should be able to ask for a cycling holiday instead. It was a magnificent trip. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever made my body do, but not quite as hard as I expected it would be. I did think my lungs were going to burst on a few hilly occasions, but it was totally worth it for the scenery and just the all-round good feeling I get when I ride a bike. The tour group was full of lovely people as well, which was a bonus. If you’re interested, it was this trip. Here are a few highlights. Oh sorry, a few more than a few.

Gone grey overnight!

I was just doing my hair, and I found not one or two, but about ten white hairs in my head! It’s almost like I’ve gone grey overnight. How cool is that!! And there’s probably more at the back I can’t see. So distinguished :)

Also, we will have Wes’ mum Therese and her friend Cal visiting us just in time for Wes’ birthday. So October is a very busy month, with plenty of cake.

Before cake days though, we are gearing up for our Italy trip which is next week. Yay for holidays, I am so sick of work at the moment :)

Bonjour, ca va?

28-31 August, wonderful four days in Paris. We saw so many masterpieces and walked the entire city a few times. We stayed in a studio flat in Bastille and ate lots of bread. So many ornate doors in that beautiful city. Plus the weather was amazing, averaging about 27 degrees for four days straight!
