Birthday hike 2010 – Mount Keen

For the last few birthdays I’ve swapped cocktail parties for mountain walks, and this year we decided to hike the easternmost munro in Scotland. Mount Keen is part of the Cairngorms, and the closest munro to our house. We managed to convince Team Kola to join us. Priya and Wes both took me a birthday cake for us to eat at the top! Once we were up there I had mobile reception, so I searched for nearby geocaches, then we found a few on our way back down. Afterwards we headed straight to Rishi’s, our favourite Indian restaurant, for our evening meal, where I got to have falooda for my birthday dessert. I think falooda might be my new favourite thing, I even dream about it. All in all, it was an amazing day, I was completely spoiled on the present front, and it was the easiest munro we’ve done.
