Handheld gaming decision

With the prospect of a very lonely long haul journey looming, I feel the need to purchase a bit of entertainment. I have a small stash of birthday money, so the only question to answer is ‘Nintendo ds or ipod touch?’. Obviously there’s a cost difference, the ipod is more than double the price of the ds. But is the ipod touch’s future potential as a very cool wii-technology-style handheld gaming device worth the extra intial outlay? I have a week to decide so welcome your thoughts.
The touch for sure! There is no other choice! No only will it play games, you can listen to music, watch videos, and as you say it has the wifi and email capability!
To someone who has neither, it is hard to judge really. Games for the touch would be much cheaper (balancing the outlay), but would they be as good? Internet capacity is always a winner. Personally, I think the touch is more diverse, so would go with that.
